AMPANG: Police here have detained five people following a fight along the side of the road near Taman Seraya due to a traffic disagreement.
Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Farouk Eshak said four men and a woman were detained at Taman Bukit Teratai and Taman Pandan Mewah between 7.30pm and 9pm on Wednesday (Nov 24).
"During the incident, a 48-year-old wiring contractor was driving his lorry along with his son when a traffic misunderstanding occurred with three individuals, including a woman in a car,” said ACP Mohamad Farouk.

He also said that the two vehicles belonging to the suspects and weapons used were seized and that those detained tested negative for drugs.
“One of them has a prior criminal record," he added, saying that the case is classified under Section 148 of the Penal Code for rioting with weapons.
"We urge those with information to contact investigating officer Insp Mohamad Asri Ismail at 010-4068158 or any nearest police station. The public should refrain from speculating on the incident or make comments that could cause confusion or disrupt public order," he said.
The suspects will be remanded for further investigation, he added.
