MELAKA: The decomposing remains of an elderly man who went missing on Jan 31 have been found behind a hotel here.

       Melaka Tengah OCPD Asst Comm Christopher Patit said the body of the 87-year-old man was found in bushes behind the hotel at Tengkera on Monday (Feb 14) evening.

       "We found the man's MyKad at the site and it matched a missing persons police report lodged here on Jan 31," he said on Tuesday (Feb 15).

       ACP Christopher said the deceased was living alone at a house in Taman Kota Laksamana Section Two here.

       He said the deceased had health complications and was believed to have fallen at the scene while making his way home.

       He added that police had ruled out any criminal element and classified the case as a sudden death report.
