KUALA LUMPUR: All 88 intersections previously closed by the police here have been reopened.
City Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Asst Comm Sarifudin Mohd Salleh said the affected roads were reopened at 2.50pm.
On Friday, the Kuala Lumpur Magistrate's Court issued an order banning any procession or gathering within a one-kilometre radius of Sogo Complex and Masjid Jamek on Saturday (Aug 21).
City police chief Comm Datuk Azmi Abu Kassim had said any gathering or procession was prohibited and urge everyone to comply with standard operating procedures (SOP) under Phase One of the National Recovery Plan.
Earlier this month, Sekretariat Solidariti Rakyat (SSR) said they would hold a protest on Aug 21 demanding Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin resign as prime minister but called off the protest on Thursday (Aug 19) following Muhyiddin's resignation.
However, they said that the #Lawan movement would go on.
