The body of a man who went missing on Halloween night has been found, according to police.
I?aki Bascaran’s body was found at 4:53 p.m. Friday in the Chicago River by the Marine Unit in the 1000 block of South Wells Street, according to Officer Camelia Clark, a Chicago Police spokesperson.
Bascaran, an account executive and native of Glenview, was last seen clubbing with friends in River North Oct. 30, near the 800 block of West Newport Avenue in Chicago.
His father, Jose Bascaran, and friends and family posted flyers of I?aki’s picture throughout River North, asking people with information to contact the police. According to Bascaran, 56, an Uber driver reported seeing someone late Saturday fitting his son’s description walking “not in a good condition.”
“He is a really good kid,” Bascaran said. “I don’t know if he blacked out. I have no idea.”
An autopsy was scheduled for later Saturday to determine the cause and manner of his death, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Detectives were also investigating.
