A MUM-of-five who was caught speeding five times in just 19 days argued that she needed her car as her husband is too "tied up" with work to ferry around their family.

Nurse Natasha Hubble, 36, from Knowsley, Liverpool, has been banned from the roads after being caught by the same set of speed cameras at between 58-63mph on the M62 near Manchester.

At Tameside magistrates court, the 36-year-old admitted speeding but argued her family relies on her for lifts and claimed her husband Chris, 37 was ''not much assistance'' as he was busy with his own work.

She claimed that her family would suffer ''exceptional hardship" but she was still disqualified for six months and fined £476 with £142 costs.

Her lawyer Charles Stansfield told the hearing that the mum has had a clean driving license for 14 years and argued that she was travelling in a temporary speed limit zone.

He added that she has already completed a speed awareness course for one of the offences and has now "learned about the importance of following the temporary limit and how it still applies."

The lawyer also argued that Hubble needs her car not only to drive her five children to school but also for her work.

The 36-year-old is a bank nurse with Aintree hospital but has her own mobile business as well.

He argued that one of her sons is a footballer and she drives him to matches and training regularly.

He concluded: “She and her family pretty well rely on her ability to drive. She has many, many years with no points at all.

"There was a reason as to why she committed these offences. It all happened over a very short period of time and now her family life is seriously in jeopardy."

But JP Maxine Hamer told her: “The bench takes speeding very seriously.

"We have heard a lot about your family circumstances and how you work for yourself and your husband as well as your travel.

"However, you have failed to meet the threshold needed for exceptional hardship.

"We have heard hardship and inconvenience but not exceptional hardship.''
