SIBU: Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri James Masing (pic) passed away at Normah Sarawak Medical Centre (NSMC), Petra Jaya here at 7.05am on Sunday (Oct 31) morning.

       He was 72.

       Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department Abdullah Saidol confirmed his passing.

       Masing, who was also Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) president, had been admitted the hospital on Sept 28 for Covid-19.

       The state Infrastructure and Ports Development minister had received two doses of the vaccine.

       On Sept 28, Masing had said on Facebook that he had Covid-19 was experiencing symptoms of fever, cough, loss of appetite and water in his lungs but was coping well.
