Man, 61, charged with murder of missing woman, 24, who was last seen two years ago shopping in Asda

       A MAN has been charged with murdering a 24-year-old woman who was last seen two years ago shopping in Asda.

       Alisha Apostoloff-Boyarin vanished from Tameside, Greater Manchester, in February 2022.

       Police today confirmed they have charged David Alex Taylor with murder.

       The 61-year-old has been remanded into custody to appear at Manchester Crown Court.

       It comes after a 59-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder was bailed pending further enquiries.

       Alisha was reported missing on February 2, 2022, by her concerned grandmother.

       Officers previously released CCTV of Alisha's last moments before she disappeared.

       She could be seen shopping in Asda where she used her bank card - the last official transaction.

       Officers confirmed from the supermarket she travelled to Sunderland Bridge in the Croxdale area of Durham but has not been since.

       Her family revealed they were "desperate for answers" as the heartbreaking search continued.

       Greater Manchester Police said previously they believed Alisha had come to "serious harm".

       The force said: "In February 2022, a 24-year-old woman, later named to be Alisha Apostoloff-Boyarin from Ashton Under Lyne, was reported missing by her family and an investigation was launched to locate Alisha.

       "Following further enquiries from Greater Manchester Police’s Major Incident Team, a 61-year-old man has now been charged for Alisha’s murder."
