       PARENTS of Indian pupils at SMK Puteri Titiwangsa are demanding an urgent solution to the Tamil language teacher problem at the school, Malaysia Nanban reported.

       They said the Kuala Lumpur school’s sole full-time Tamil language teacher retired in June and a temporary teacher was appointed in his place.

       However, the state Education Department has seemingly made no effort to identify and appoint a full-time teacher in the five months since, they said.

       This has caused problems for around 70 pupils who will be taking the Tamil subject in the upcoming year-end exams.

       The temporary teacher can only conduct classes on Mondays and this is done during class hours. This means the pupils have to choose between going to their regular classes or the Tamil class, the parents said.
