KUALA LUMPUR: Telecommunications companies (telcos) have launched a special campaign to help accelerate affordable smartphone ownership among Malaysians in conjunction with the upcoming Merdeka celebrations, as well as to support the Pakej Peranti RM1 Malaysia Prihatin.

       Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (Digi) offers Gemilang Deals from now until Sept 30, 2021 that aimed at helping customers staying connected and productive despite having to work or study from home with the best value-for-money internet plans and affordable smartphone devices.

       Customers could purchase selected 4Gsmartphones from only RM1 via Digi ’s PhoneFreedom 365 (PF365) when paired with Digi Postpaid 120 (DP120) onwards or Digi Smart Bundle when paired it with Digi Postpaid 60 (DP60).

       In a statement, chief marketing officer Praveen Rajan said the company has put together the Digi Gemilang Deals to help ensure more Malaysians could own smartphones and have access to internet plans that suit their digital needs.

       Besides, Digi prepaid customers could enjoy a limited time offer of RM5 for 5GB (normal price RM5 for 3GB) when they choose to top up their Internet during the promotion period.

       Meanwhile, U Mobile offers its new and existing customers with RM0.99 4G VoLTE-enabled mobile phone from now until Sept 16, 2021.

       To qualify for the RM0.99 4G VoLTE-enabled mobile phone, customers would have bundled the mobile phone with the Unlimited HERO P79, P99, P139 or Giler Unlimited GX68 postpaid plan.

       U Mobile customers, who take up the latest offer, would be able to enjoy high definition quality crystal clear calls, quicker call connection, as well as the ability to stay online at 4G data speeds even when on a call. - Bernama
