A 55-year-old woman is in critical condition after being shot on the Dan Ryan Expressway Friday evening, officials said.
The shooting happened around 7:09 p.m. on the expressway near 47th Street, Curtis Hudson, deputy district chief with the Chicago Fire Department, said.
The woman, a passenger in a car, was transported to University of Chicago Medical Center, Hudson said. No one else was injured in the shooting.
Local lanes were shut down near 47th Street, said Oscar Juarez, a trooper with the Illinois State Police.
No arrests have been made.
