One person was killed and another person was injured in a hit-and-run crash on the Dan Ryan Expressway near 95th Street in Chicago early Sunday, according to Illinois State Police.
Investigators were called to the Longwood Manor scene around 4:15 a.m., Trooper Genelle Jones said in an emailed statement.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene, Jones said. The medical examiner’s office had not identified the person who died as of Sunday morning.
A second person was taken to an area hospital with injuries of unknown severity, she said.
Jones said the crash was a two-vehicle hit-and-run, but the make and model of the involved vehicles were not immediately available.

Around 5 a.m., all southbound lanes of Interstate 94 were closed for investigation and traffic was diverted at 95th Street, she said. All lanes were reopened at 9:20 a.m.
Additional details remained scarce Sunday morning.
