PETALING JAYA: Unknown individuals have blocked the entrance to the holiday resort and cafe Tanah Aina, which is owned by environmentalist Puan Sri Shariffa Sabrina Syed Akil.

       “On March 23, the holiday resort and café known as Tanah Aina Fareena were blocked off at both entrances.

       “The officers in charge of closing the entrance to her café did not identify themselves or provide any notice to that effect.

       “As it currently stands, neither the owner, the resort workers, nor the general public have access to Tanah Aina Fareena,” the resort said in a statement on Tuesday (March 26).

       It further said this would lead to financial loss to the property as the roads continued to be blocked.

       “Not only have the powers that be cut off Tanah Aina Fareena from its owners and the rest of the world, but this has also resulted in Tanah Aina Fareena suffering financial loss every single day as the entrance roads are closed,” it added.

       In 2022, the Association for the Protection of Natural Heritage of Malaysia (Peka) president pleaded not guilty at the Raub Sessions Court to three counts of unlawful occupation of state land.

       The land involved is alleged to have been turned into a resort area and for business activities by Tanah Aina Fareena Cafe & Restaurant, Tanah Aina Fahad Glamping Resort and Tanah Aina Farrah Soraya Exclusive Eco Resort.
