PETALING JAYA: Malaysia Airlines Berhad will assist a Malaysian humanitarian organisation to deliver donated Oxygen concentrators to Indonesia at no cost.

       The United Sikhs Malaysia had on Wednesday (Aug 4) handed over their first shipment of Oxygen concentrators to MAB Kargo for their “Help Indonesia Breathe” project.

       These oxygen concentrators would then be transported by MasKargo to Jakarta on a flight that left from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport on Wednesday.

       This shipment was the first of a planned 50 oxygen concentrators costing RM 190,000 as part of the “Help Indonesia Breathe” project.

       The concentrators would be used in the Covid Care Center set up in the Tangerang Selatan area by Yayasan Sosial Guru Nanak, to aid the ailing medical system and help save as many lives as possible.

       United Sikhs had previously secured 100 concentrators for India during the peak of its Covid-19 crisis and has been running Covid Care operations in Malaysia too.

       In Malaysia, the organisation distributes oxygen via oxygen bags and oxygen concentrators to assist patients battling the infection regardless of background.

       "We can only battle this pandemic when everybody is taken care of. We have to think global, to bring things to normal," said United Sikhs Operations Director Mandeep Singh in a press release.

       Chief Executive Officer of MAB Kargo Sdn Bhd Ibrahim Mohamed Salleh said they were happy to be part of this humanitarian movement alongside United Sikhs for the people in Indonesia through their counterpart Yayasan Sosial Guru Nanak.

       “It really is a case of 'alone you can do little but together we can accomplish so much',” he said.
