KEPALA BATAS: A security guard was killed after the motorcycle he was riding hit the back of another moving vehicle on Jalan Permatang Panjang on Tuesday (Aug 17).
North Seberang Prai OCPD Asst Comm Noorzainy Mohd Noor said Muhammad Amin Hussain, 26, died on the spot from head and body injuries.
"In the initial investigation, police found that the accident involved two vehicles, a white multipurpose vehicle (MPV) and a motorcycle, at 7.50pm on Tuesday," he said in a statement on Wednesday (Aug 18).
ACP Noorzainy said the MPV was on its way from Kepala Batas to Pekan Darat when the driver slowed his vehicle because the car in front was about to make a left turn.
ACP Noorzainy said the victim came up from behind on his motorcycle and hit the MPV.
The victim, who is from Ipoh, was pronounced dead by medical officers at the scene, he added.
"The victim's body was sent to Hospital Kepala Batas for a post-mortem after a Covid-19 swab test," he said.
The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
