       TOKYO (Kyodo) -- Yokohama F Marinos did all the little things, but still needed an own goal on Sunday to scrape out a 1-0 win at Tokushima Vortis in the J-League first division.

       Currently second in the league, Marinos moved to 40 points with their fourth straight win, thanks to a 27th-minute own goal off a Marcos Junior corner.

       The ball from the right corner went past the far post, where defender Shinnosuke Hatanaka blasted it toward the goal. The ball rocketed off a defender and into the net in a half the visitors clearly dominated at Pocari Sweat Stadium.

       "Marcos gave me a good ball to work with," Hatanaka said. "I didn't score on my own, but I did fire it in, and it went in due to the defender's mistake. I knew that was one possibility when I struck it. So all's well that ends well."

       "We did a good job of keeping the ball in front of us, stealing it when we had a chance and starting quick counters."

       Marinos, who have played 18 games, are 15 points behind league leaders Kawasaki Frontale, who have played 21 and are currently away competing in the Asian Champions League.

       Elsewhere, Shimizu S-Pulse's Brazilian defender Valdo equalized in the 81st minute, earning the visitors a 1-1 draw at Yokohama FC, while Kashima Antlers thumped Consadole Sapporo 4-0 at home.

       Urawa Reds beat Avispa Fukuoka 2-0 at home, while FC Tokyo also kept a clean sheet at home as they beat Oita Trinita 3-0.

       Kashiwa Reysol earned a late 4-2 win at Shonan Belmare, Takuma Ominami equalizing in the 93rd minute before Cristiano hit a 99th-minute winner and Pedro Raul added another in the 102nd minute to complete his brace. Shonan had two goals disallowed for handball in the second half.
