FIFTY disabled fans got the chance to watch Ajith Kumar’s latest film Valimai, thanks to a local fan club and the distributor, Malaysia Nanban reported.

The Malaysia Ajith Narpani Mandram and Malik Streams Corporation provided 50 free tickets for a special showing at the IOI City Mall in Putrajaya.

Malik Streams chief Datuk Malik Dasthigeer also donated RM5,000 to the Uthavum Karangal welfare NGO.

Mandram chairman Devendran Pannirselvan said the effort was undertaken to give the fans a chance to watch the much anticipated film on the big screen.

The special screening was also attended by Human Resources Minister and MIC deputy president Datuk M. Saravanan.

Malik Streams handed out free special edition hand sanitiser bottles. Saravanan commended the organisations involved in the effort and urged all Indian-Malaysian NGOs to find ways to work together to help the community.

Valimai tells the story of how unemployed youths get lured into criminal enterprises exploiting modern tech and the battle waged by a police officer against such organisations.

The above articles are compiled from the vernacular newspapers (Bahasa Malaysia, Chinese and Tamil dailies). As such, stories are grouped according to the respective language/medium. Where a paragraph begins with a >, it denotes a separate news item.
