KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): The public service system will not be affected despite changes in the country’s leadership landscape, says Public Service director-general Tan Sri Mohd Khairul Adib Abd Rahman (pic).
He said the recent political changes should not influence how the government’s delivery system is carried out by the public service.
“I take the year 2018 as an example. There was a lot of fear when we had a change of government, but not one of the public services was affected.
“We could still go to hospitals for health services, go to schools for education, go to licensing counters, renew our identity cards, among others,” he said when interviewed on RTM’s Selamat Pagi Malaysia programme on Wednesday (Aug 25).
Mohd Khairul Adib said the smooth functioning of the public service could also be seen in uninterrupted government initiatives such as the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme.
He also called on civil servants to remain neutral, follow instructions and not get involved in politics.
He hoped that the public service remained efficient and civil servants would continue to uphold their pledge to serve the country. – Bernama
