THE Malaysia Tamilar Sangam has donated food and grocery packets to 50 poor families as part of its campaign to provide supplies to 2,000 families, Makkal Osai reported.
Residents from Sentul, Jalan Ipoh and Setiawangsa in Kuala Lumpur were among the first batch of beneficiaries last Thursday.
These recipients were from multiracial families.
The Sangam, which was started in 2002, has 53 branches around the country carrying out welfare and aid programmes.
> The Negri Sembilan government will help find a solution to the land issue faced by a temple in Lukut, Makkal Osai also reported.
The temple is apparently located on a site belonging to another party.
It is also situated below a transmission pylon which could be unsafe for devotees.
