A man on foot was killed on the Capitol Beltway in Prince George’s County on Friday in a hit-and-run, Maryland state police said.

Investigators think he left his vehicle after it crashed, and then tried to run across the highway, police said. Investigators think he was struck by one or more vehicles, but none remained at the scene, according to police.

Jones was taken to a hospital, where he died, police said.
