MELAKA: Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani and Army Chief General Tan Sri Zamrose Mohd Zain are leading the 695 award recipients in conjunction with the 72nd birthday of the Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Melaka, Tun Dr Mohd Ali Rustam.

       The two are awarded the Darjah Gemilang Seri Melaka (DGSM), which carries the title “Datuk Seri”.

       In a statement yesterday, Melaka’s State Secretary office said 14 individuals would receive the Darjah Cemerlang Seri Melaka (DCSM), which carries the title “Datuk Wira”, including Melaka police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Mohd Majid Ali and national soccer legend Datuk Soh Chin Ann.

       Court of Appeal Judge Darryl Goon Siew Chye, Melaka High Court Judge Anselm Charles Fernandis and Perodua Auto Corp’s executive director Kazuyoshi Nagata are the three individuals awarded the Darjah Mulia Seri Melaka (DMSM), which carries the title “Datuk”.

       Melaka Legal Adviser Abd Aziz Engan and general manager of the Melaka Education Trust Fund (Tapem) Mustafa Musa are among the recipients of the Darjah Pangkuan Seri Melaka (DPSM), which carries the title “Datuk”.

       Bronze medallist at the Tokyo Olympic Games and Malaysian badminton star Aaron Chia Teng Fong, as well as Malaysian Weightlifting Federation deputy president Ahmad Janius Abdullah, who is also the foster father of Tokyo Olympic Games gold medallist Hidilyn Diaz of the Philippines, have been awarded with the Bintang Cemerlang Melaka (BCM).

       The statement said the investiture ceremony will be held on a later date once Melaka moves into a safer phase of the National Recovery Plan (NRP).

       Currently, Melaka is under Phase One of the NRP.
