A 61-year-old pedestrian died after being struck by a car in McLean early Monday morning, Fairfax County police said.

       Jose Matias Monjaras, of Falls Church, was struck while crossing Chain Bridge Road at the intersection of International Drive without the right of way, police said. The driver of a Toyota Corolla was traveling north on Chain Bridge Road through a green light and struck Monjaras in the intersection, police said.

       The driver remained on the scene and Monjaras died after lifesaving efforts were performed on him, police said.

       A preliminary investigation found speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
