The Monarch, 95, and her daughter, 70, visited a community centre run by the Children’s Wood charity in Glasgow. During the engagement the royal women received jars of local honey as a souvenir.

       Emily Cutts, director of the Children’s Wood project, took Her Majesty and the Princess Royal on a tour of the North Kelvin Meadow.

       Of the special visit, Ms Cutts told Glasgow Live: “It was easy to show her round, the conversation was easy.

       “She had a good sense of humour.

       “She was commenting on the wildness often, and I said the reason we love this space as it is not manicured it means it's perfect."

       The Queen and Princess Anne also toured Skypark in Glasgow where the Queen was shown around the UK Space Agency and observed satellite production.

       For the outing, the Queen chose an electric blue ensemble accessorised with a black Launer bag.

       She also wore a brooch from her collection of nearly 100.

       The sapphire and diamond jewel matched her outfit and hat.
