Meghan Markle and Prince Harry brand in jeopardy - Sussexes snubbed by US celebrities

Meghan Markle, 40, and Prince Harry, 36, were attacked by GB News presenter Patrick Christys for leaving their senior positions in the Royal Family for a new life in LA. He claimed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's brand will "only survive" if they remain popular following reports the pair were left off Barack Obama's birthday party guest list last week. Mr Christys said: "When you swap a real, longstanding iconic institution like the Royal Family for the neon-lit faux vegan fakery of LA, don't be surprised that your friends are pretty fake as well.

"Meghan and Harry as a brand can only survive if they remain popular with their Hollywood pals and the Obama snub is a sign that surprise, surprise their shallow friendships might not stand the test of time.

"As a rule, if you have to import celebrities like George Clooney to come to your own wedding, don't be surprised if those friendships turn out to be nothing more than skin deep.

"Time will tell whether Harry lives to regret his decision but there are some facts to remember; class is permanent but everything in Hollywood is temporary.

"William and Kate are class personified. I have a feeling Wills and Kate will win this one."

Camilla Tominey, associate editor of the Telegraph, has claimed the Sussexes interview with Oprah Winfrey has "not gone down well" with the former US President and First Lady who always "put family first".

But Michelle has hinted at how Meghan and Harry could make up for their attacks on the Royal Family.

Speaking to Access Hollywood, Michelle said: "My hope is that when I think about what they're going through, I think about the importance of family, and I just pray that there is forgiveness and there is clarity and love and resolve at some point in time.

"Because there's nothing more important than family."

It comes after Meghan's half-brother has taken a swipe at his famous sibling ahead of his appearance in the Australian version of Big Brother, describing her as "shallow".

Thomas Markle junior criticised his sibling in a trailer for the reality show and also gave her husband Harry some advice, telling the duke "she's going to ruin your life".

According to reports Big Brother VIP, which is being filmed in Sydney and yet to be screened, has lost two of its biggest contestants, transgender star Caitlyn Jenner and Donald Trump's former political aide Omarosa Manigault Newman.

Mr Markle has reportedly not seen his half-sister in around a decade and, along with Meghan's father Thomas Markle, is not thought to have met Harry.

Meghan and her half-brother have the same father but she has a different mother, Doria Ragland.

Speaking in a trailer for the reality show Mr Markle said: "I'm Meghan Markle's brother.

"I'm the biggest brother of them all."

He goes on to say: "I told Prince Harry, I think she's going to ruin your life. She's very shallow."

The Duchess has a fraught relationship with her extended family and has been estranged from her father for a number of years.
