He is understood to have become involved in a dispute with a waiter at this restaurant
Worried relatives have flown from the UK to be at his bedside but they have not been allowed to see him due to Covid restrictions.
Spanish cops are investigating but no arrests have been made - officers have been unable to interview Lloyd because he is so ill and doctors are still not sure if he will make a full recovery.
A source said: “They didn’t think he would make it through the night at one stage.
“He is still in a serious condition in the intensive care unit.”
Engineer Lloyd was holidaying on Majorca with fiancée Janine Parr, 41, to celebrate their recent engagement.
The delighted mum-of-four had earlier announced the happy news to pals with a message on Instagram.

The café worker said: “Lloyd asked me to marry him and of course I said yes! So excited for our future together.”
The row at the Don Denis restaurant in Ca’n Picafort erupted after a dispute over the couple’s meal on Wednesday night last week.
Lloyd is said to have argued with a waiter over a rib steak that Janine ordered.
He is thought to have been left with stab wounds to his stomach and leg while the waiter suffered less serious injuries.
An eyewitness said: “There was lots of blood and you could see all the rags they had used to mop it up.”
Restaurant manager Jaime Soberats confirmed the row was over the quality of the meal served to the couple, of Mirfield, West Yorkshire.
He said: “I’ve been told the tourist went berserk because he wasn’t happy with the rib steak his partner had ordered.
“The tourist was hurt the worst and there was a lot of blood.
“Nothing like this has ever happened here before. We’re all in a state of shock.”
Lloyd remains in a serious but stable condition.
A spokesman for the Civil Guard in Majorca said: “Officers are investigating an incident at a restaurant in Ca’n Picafort in which two men were hurt.
“The most seriously-injured man was a British national."
