BAHAU: A 21-year-old restaurant worker has been fined RM1,500 in default nine months' jail by a Magistrate's Court here for causing hurt to a 30-year-old patron after a dispute.
Mohd Isa Ramliee pleaded guilty to the charge when it was read to him before Magistrate Muhammad Hidayat Wahab on Tuesday (May 10).

The accused was charged with committing the offence at around 1am at a nasi kandar restaurant here on May 5.
He was charged under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt, which carries a jail term of up to one year or a maximum fine of RM2,000 or both upon conviction.
According to earlier reports, the incident occurred after a cashier at the restaurant apparently raised his voice to a woman who was unhappy about being charged RM6 for a plate of fried rice with egg.
This apparently angered her son, who then threw a box of tissues at the cashier.
It was then the accused began throwing punches at the man before the fight was stopped by other workers and patrons.
The restaurant has a CCTV camera, but it was not working at the time.
A 1-minute 41-second clip of the incident also went viral on social media.
Ahmad Loqman Hakim prosecuted. Mohd Isa, who was unrepresented, paid the fine.
