       A WOMAN who has 21 children spoke of how her family was often excluded in many kenduri invitations (wedding receptions) held by neighbours who were worried that her entire brood would turn up for the feast.

       Aisyah Ismail, 61, said she has often been hurled insults for having borne so many children, Metro Ahad reported.

       “I am used to being called ibu kucing or ibu ayam because wherever I go, I will bring my children along, so I appeared like a hen with its chicks,” said Aisyah, whose children ranged in ages from 17 to 42.

       Five of them died when they were young.

       Despite the challenges of raising such a big family, Aisyah never complained.

       “It is indeed exhausting to raise children, especially when we do not have a comfortable life,” said Aisyah, who lives in Jertih, Besut.

       However, she said that she and her 74-year-old husband had faith that God would provide for them.

       Her husband Abdullah @ Ali Ahmad said that he practised a healthy lifestyle that led him to be able to raise the children.

       Some netizens described her pose as “tidak manis” (impolite).
