The U.S. Capitol Police is investigating the discharge of a department-issued weapon inside a breakroom at the Cannon House Office Building before 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, the agency said.

       A Capitol Police spokesperson would not say who had fired the weapon but said the agency suspended an officer while its Office of Professional Responsibility investigates the incident.
