KUALA LUMPUR: TGV Cinemas has appointed Tan Lay Han as executive director and chief executive officer effective Sept 17.

       Tan joined Tanjong Plc in 1994 where he was involved in the conception of TGV Cinemas and became its founding general manager.

       He then joined Maxis in 1999, where he played a key role in its growth and success holding leadership positions across sales and services, marketing, business planning and transformation delivering innovative distribution and customer experience.

       Prior to this appointment, Tan served as the chief sales and services officer at Maxis.

       TGV chairman Shaharul Rezza Hassan said: “Tan brings with him a wealth of experience in understanding, anticipating, and responding to evolving consumer needs, a key dependency for cinemas as the industry looks towards a post Covid future.”

       “The board is truly excited with this appointment. We have every confidence in Tan’s ability to lead TGV, given his strong understanding of the business and his deep knowledge of consumer dynamics.” he said.
