Twitter user Investologica shared a picture of a Nando’s receipt this Friday and expressed his gratitude to the popular restaurant chain. The caption explained that the staff at Nando’s Manchester Piccadilly branch offered their table a free meal.

The reason behind the “random act of kindness,” as stated in the receipt, was the presence of a young person undergoing chemotherapy.

Investologica wrote: “Want to say a huge thank you to Nando’s UK Manchester Piccadilly for being so accommodating to my little cousin, who is going through chemotherapy right now.

       “They even paid the bill.

       “Seriously, it means a lot.”

The picture of the receipt has collected more than 8,000 likes from many people who saluted the restaurant’s gesture.

Paul from Chorley commented: “After a week where the selfish side of the government has dominated the news, it’s heartwarming to see a selfless act by Nando’s UK.

       “Huge kudos to them.

“Sending best wishes to your cousin; hopefully, a long and healthy life ahead.”

User Gamerdude said: “It’s small stories like this that help restore my faith in humanity. Good job, Nando’s.”

It’s not the first time that the PERi-PERi chicken restaurant gave a meal for free to a struggling family.

In 2017 in Kent, a Nando’s waitress covered the bill for Zara Ann Ransley and her young son.

At the time, Ms Ransley wrote on Facebook: “Would just like to say what amazing staff you have at the Sevenoaks Nando’s.

“We went there today with our baby boy, which we do monthly.

“We travel to Sevenoaks for private health treatment for our son.”

She then explained that, when entering the restaurant, the waitress asked why the mother and son were in such good spirits.

After explaining that her son was finally getting better according to his doctors, Ms Ransley ordered as usual.

Still, when she went to pay, the staff told her the restaurant would take care of the bill.

“They wanted us to enjoy this moment,” she added.
