A Mount Prospect man was charged Sunday with one felony count of first-degree murder in the stabbing death Wednesday of a man at a Des Plaines Burger King, according to Des Plaines police.

The police department said Antonio Solorio, 42, was arrested Friday outside a relative’s Streamwood home. Solorio and the 28-year-old victim, Mario Jara-Antemante, knew each other and had several mutual acquaintances, police said.

Police said the men got into a confrontation Wednesday outside the Burger King at 860 S. Elmhurst Road. Solorio allegedly chased Jara-Antemante into the restaurant and stabbed him at about 5:50 p.m., police said.

Solorio fled the scene before officers arrived, police said.

The Des Plaines Fire Department transported Jara-Antemante, who suffered several stab wounds, to a local hospital, where he later died, authorities said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office ruled Jara-Antemante’s death a homicide, caused by several sharp-force injuries.

Police said they identified Solorio as a person of interest through several witness accounts along with surveillance footage. Solorio is awaiting a detention hearing.
