A pedestrian was killed Saturday on West Glebe Road in the Alexandria area after he was struck by a car.

       The incident happened around 8:10 p.m. in the 200 block of West Glebe Road near Mt. Vernon Avenue. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said the driver stayed on the scene and was not hurt.

       Authorities later identified the pedestrian as Roy Saravia Alvarez of Alexandria.
