KUWAIT CITY, Dec 13: MP Abdullah Al-Turaiji has submitted a proposal to limit the number of vehicles owned by any expatriate to two. The lawmaker pointed out that if an expatriate is in urgent need for three or more cars, he must submit a request to the General Traffic Department (GTD) explaining his need for such cars. If his request is approved, he must pay the extra fees specified by GTD. He cited the report published by a daily newspaper and circulated on social media, stating that tens or hundreds of expatriates own about 50 vehicles for trading and renting.

He went on to say that these expatriates occupy the public yards and public parks of cooperative societies, schools and mosques where they establish illegal markets for selling and renting cars. He added this is one of the causes of traffic jams and problems for citizens who cannot easily find a place to park their cars. MP Yousef Al-Ghareeb has proposed allowing citizens with infertility problems to undergo treatment abroad without any conditions such as the age of the couple.

He pointed out that infertility has become a major problem threatening the stability of families. He said the Constitution states that the family is the basic unit in the nation. MP Muhammad Hadi Al- Huwaila submitted a proposal to amend the decision of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) on the registration of the holders of seconday stage certificate or lower. The current decision states that the applicant must be at least 25 years old before applying or registering for a public sector job. He explained this is aimed at reducing the required age from 25 to 21 years old, as the current age requirement deprives the State of the contributions of the youths to the development of their country.
