A GRANDAD who is covered head to toes in tattoos claims he has spent nearly ￡3,000 on his 1,500 inkings that cover 98 per cent of his body.

       Marcelo B-boy got his first tat aged 15 and has since undergone several extreme modifications including fang insertions and a split tongue.

       Based in his home city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the tat enthusiastic says it's his self-inked eyeballs and gums that have drawn the most attention.

       Yet, despite attracting stares all day long, Marcelo says he only receives praise for his unique look.

       He told the Daily Drum: “Today, people look at me with curiosity and interest. I don't hear many bad comments about how I look.

       "Women are very enchanted by my tattoos and modifications and I like all of my tattoos - there isn't one that I could say was my favourite.”

       At the tender age of just 38, Marcelo has two children and one grandchild whom he says are hugely supportive of his lifestyle choices.

       The grandad even admitted that he has encouraged his eldest to start her tattoo journey too, despite facing questions about his own extreme methods.

       "My kids are totally cool with my tattoos and my daughter already has some of her own. I'm supportive of whatever they do,” he said.

       “The eyes are the modification that is most popular with people because many people are curious about how to get their eyes tattooed and have questions about the risk of going blind.

       "I wasn't worried about going blind because I understand the process - the eye pigmentation is only done in the white part of the eye.”

       Marcelo, who was previously a hip-hop dance teacher, now works as an artistic model and actor and regularly attends tattoo events as one of its main attractions.

       The local icon is also active on Instagram where he shares snaps of his unique designs with his 24k followers – including two recent implants on his left arm.

       Yet. the model has no plans on slowing down on his artistic efforts as he aims to fill the last remaining areas on his body not covered with ink.

       He added: "I only have a few spaces left without tattoos like intimate areas and some small spaces on my leg, but I plan to get them tattooed soon too.
