KUALA LUMPUR: The woman who caused a stir at a luxury retail store here for refusing to wear a mask has been handed two RM1,500 compound notices by the police.
She was also seen maskless when she attempted to enter another shopping mall in Bangsar a few days later.
Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Noor Dellhan Yahaya said after the authorities had completed their investigations, issued two compounds worth RM1,500 each to the woman yesterday for breaching Covid-19 standard operating procedure.
“The first compound was issued for her failure to scan using the MySejahtera app before entering the premises.
“The second was for failure to wear a face mask,” he said in a statement.

The police also confirmed that the Caucasian woman in the viral video at a retail store in Kuala Lumpur was the same person who tried to enter a Bangsar shopping mall without wearing a mask.
Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Amihizam Abdul Shukor was quoted as saying the police had identified the woman and opened an investigation into the case.
Police detected a 20-second video clip circulating on Twitter of the woman in the Bangsar mall.
He confirmed that she was the same person who had caused a scene at the first retail store in the city.
In the video, a maskless Caucasian woman is seen complaining to the shopping centre staff that the boutique worker had put his hands on her to prevent her from entering, which was denied by the employee concerned.
The woman in the video netizens dubbed “Karen” – the generic name used for self-entitled white women – went viral and became a top trending topic on social media on Wednesday.
