A man was found dead Monday morning after a Rogers Park apartment fire, according to Chicago police.

       Police responded to a fire in a laundry room of an apartment complex in the 1900 block of West Fargo Avenue at about 2:20 a.m. While firefighters extinguished the blaze, they discovered the body of a 55-year-old man in the building’s basement.

       He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

       The Chicago Fire Department determined the fire was accidental.
