Separately, Comm Mior Faridalathrash urged cyclists to be more cautious along the Jalan Simpang Pulai-Cameron Highland road following the death of a cyclist on Sunday (May 22).
“There is high traffic along the road, with cars and heavy vehicles to and from Cameron Highlands. Cyclists need to remember that they are not the only ones using the road.
“Cycling is a good hobby but cyclists need to check their bikes and safety measures before starting the ride. Check the brakes and other parts," he said.
In a statement on Sunday, Comm Mior Faridalathrash said the cyclist, identified as Foo Hua Bin, 34, was cycling down the slope from Cameron Highland-Simpang Pulai before losing control and crashing at about 2.35pm.
Foo, an aide to an assemblyman here, died at the scene from head injuries.
