SIBU: Sarawak recorded 15 deaths and 1,760 new Covid-19 cases on Thursday (Sept 23).
The state disaster management committee said Sibu saw the most number of deaths with five, followed by Kuching, Miri and Sarikei with three each; while Sri Aman recorded one death.
The victims were aged from 25 to 90 and comprised eight women and seven men.
All had comorbidities which included high blood pressure, gout, diabetes, kidney and heart failure, and dyslipidemia.
"Of the 1,766 new cases, 1,751 or 99.74% were Category One and Two cases while the rest were Category Three, Four and Five cases," it said.
Five districts in the state recorded three-digit cases: Kuching (399), Sibu (247), Bintulu (217), Miri (191) and Bau (112).
Cumulatively, the number of cases for Sarawak stands at 190,609.
There were no new clusters.
