The Princess, 71, had a busy couple of days in Paris which included meeting representatives of the Paris 2024 Olympics and meeting The Garde Républicaine. As a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the royal met with representatives of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games over the two days.

On her first day in France, Anne also met with representatives from the 2023 France Rugby World Cup, being patron of the Scottish Rugby Union.

The 71-year-old royal visited the Longchamp Racecourse later that day where she watched the 100th edition of the Prix de L'Arc de Triomphe.

The Prix de L’Arc de Triomphe is one of the most prestigious horse races.

After the race concluded, Anne presented a trophy to the winner - a German trained horse named Torquator Tasso.

Ridden by Rene Piechulek and trained by Marcel Weiss, the horse won at odds of 80/1.

Torquator Tasso beat horses that have previously finished victorious at many races including Derby, the Oaks, and the St Leger.

While overseas, Anne also paid tribute to her mother and planted the first Jubilee Tree outside the UK in honour of the upcoming Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

The royal planted the symbolic tree at the Residence of the British Ambassador to France with representatives of the Commonwealth Realms and local scouts also in attendance.

On the second day of the royal tour, the Princess visited the UNESCO World Heritage Centre and met with female scientists.

There she spoke with the women taking part in the UNESCO-L’Oreal Women in Science Programme and had a chance to see pictures of her late father visiting in 1988.

Responding to the Royal Family’s twitter post about the trip, royal fans gushed over the “graceful” and “hard-working” royal.

Twitter user @brigantia__ said: “Just love HRH, The Princess Royal.

“Such a hard worker, a role model, and an amazing woman who had given enormous strength to the backbone of today's monarchy.”

“Stylish, graceful, hard-working and a real credit to this country,” added @heathenstanley.

       “She’s wonderful,” chipped in @amandalannon.

Twitter user @Lyla41538339 gushed over Anne's appearances in the French capital: “Princess Anne doesn’t get the press coverage she deserves. She works so very hard, without a complaint, or wince.”

“The Princess Royal looks so elegant, chic & a true lady. A gem to the Crown!” Twitter user @Classictruethat added.

“She’s so hard working, I have so much respect for Princess Anne,” @AngelaB36907491 agreed.

This is the first time the 71-year-old royal has traveled abroad in 2021 due to the pandemic and she made sure to make the visit packed with engagements.

In the past the royal has said she has no intention of slowing down.

“I don’t think retirement is quite the same [for me],” Anne told Vanity Fair.

“Most people would say we’re very lucky not to be in that situation because you wouldn’t want to just stop.

“It is, to a large extent, the choice of the organisations you’re involved with and whether they feel you’re still relevant.”
