AYER HITAM: Ayer Hitam MP Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong visited the Parit Tengah Ayer Hitam polling district to provide aid to families.

       With the help of local community leaders, food aid was handed over to 497 families in Kampung Parit Surau Darat, Kampung Parit Tengah, Kampung Simpang Sikon and Kampung Parit Surau Laut.

       The MCA president thanked volunteers who worked hard to help deliver aid several times to the people from the respective localities since the implementation of the movement control order in March 2020.

       “I had the opportunity to visit some families in Kampung Parit Tengah and interact with the voters to ensure that they are well and provided necessary help,” he said, adding that he is thankful that almost all adult residents have been fully vaccinated to protect themselves, their families and the community.

       Earlier, Dr Wee attended the prize giving ceremony for an Ayer Hitam Jalur Gemilang flying and Tiktok competition, held at the Taman UPC Ayer Hitam open hall.

       “In conjunction with the month of Merdeka and in order to inspire patriotic spirit among the people, participants flew the Jalur Gemilang in two categories, namely the housing estate category and the village category. The residents carried out gotong-royong to decorate their respective housing estates and villages with the Jalur Gemilang,” he said.

       To encourage Ayer Hitam constituents to use Tiktok, a competition was held for participants to express their love and affection for the country using the app. Many young people participated and produced quality work, said Dr Wee.
