KOTA KINABALU: Thirteen business owners pleaded guilty to abetting and falsifying documents to get tenders to supply food for Sabah schools, worth almost RM29mil between 2015 and 2018.
The 13 were Tekenah Aring, 36, Naima Omopor, 47, Darius Pengeran, 29, Amira Atirah, 25, Irwan Gintaun, 34, Asrin Songorou, 29, Emeylina Tanggauh, 38, Faizal Mingin, 40, Pulali Angsabung, 31, Sahadi Andawai, 23, Rosnah Lutok, 33, Menly Masikar, 31, and Erar Angsabung, 53.
They pleaded guilty before Special Corruptions Court Judge Abu Bakar Manat on Tuesday (April 19).
Emeylina and Faizal were unrepresented, while the rest were represented by law firm Azman Baginda & Co.
According to the fact sheet, they had made false claims and abetted in the process for school tender projects worth a total of RM28,389,300.40.
Each faced three charges respectively and were fined RM5,000 per offence.
They all paid their fines after the hearing.
