Meghan Markle tipped to ignore her father's deathbed plea as he was 'awful' dad to her

A royal expert claims Thomas Markle's pleas to reconcile with Meghan Markle will fall on deaf ears — and the elder Markle's first wife may be to blame.

Jack Royston, who covers the royals for Newsweek, notes that Thomas's appearance on Good Morning Britain to, once again, beg for his grandchildren seemed like a ploy to get attention.

Royston also notes that Thomas hasn't seen his other grandchildren — from the children he shares with his first wife — and says there's a reason for that.

And his pleas to only see the Sussex's children feel like little more than a publicity grab.

"The pair have not spoken since he staged paparazzi pictures for money in 2018 and later leaked a letter she sent him to U.K. tabloid The Mail on Sunday, sparking a lawsuit," he wrote.

"As a result, he has never met his grandchildren Prince Archie, four, and Princess Lilibet, two, as he prepares to turn 80 next year and following heart attacks before their 2018 wedding and a stroke in May 2022."

Royston also notes that Thomas Markle's first wife, Rosyln, frequently spoke of her ex-husband's cheating throughout their marriage, was an "awful father" to their children, and even had an affair with one of her relatives.

All of this, Royston says, is proof that Thomas is only begging for the Duchess of Sussex's attention for his own personal needs.

Royston points out that Thomas Markle frequently runs to the media to get attention every time Meghan Markle gets some positive attention, and her recent successful press tour with the Invictus Games is proof.

He said that Thomas waited until the Invictus Games were over to, once again, come before Good Morning Britain to rehash old drama.

Yet, on the morning show, Thomas once again tried to make himself out to be a victim. "I'm sad about it as well because this is a cruel thing to do to a grandparent. Not just to me but to the king of England as well to deny the right to see a grandchild," he said.

All this, says Royston, is proof that the rift between Meghan Markle and her father will never heal.
