POLICE have revealed their relief and thanked the public after a boy who went missing was found safe and reunited with family.

       Greater Manchester Police had issued an urgent appeal on X/Twitter to help find six-year-old Harley from Heywood.

       Tips they gave people to help track him down included how he was wearing a blue sweatshirt as well as black and white trainers.

       The alert came after he vanished around 3.15pm today in the town of Heywood, two miles east of Bury and eight north of Manchester.

       They posted: "Can you help us find missing Harley (aged 6) from #Heywood?

       "Officers are becoming increasingly concerned about him and want to make sure he is safe and well.

       "Anyone with information about Harley’s whereabouts should contact police on 101 quoting log 2281 of 24/08/23."

       But the force tonight said: "GMP would like to thank those of you who shared our missing appeal for 6-year-old Harley from #Heywood.

       "Harley has been found safe and well and he is being reunited with his family.

       "Thank you for your continued support in sharing our appeals."
