KUALA LUMPUR: Carlsberg Brewery Malaysia Bhd has appointed Tan Sri Chor Chee Heung as chairman, succeeding Datuk Toh Ah Wah.
Toh will resign from his roles as chairman and independent non-executive director to devote more time to pursue his personal interest, effective June 1.

In a statement, the brewer said Chor would also take on the position of member of the nomination & remuneration committee and member of the audit committee.
“I am honoured to be appointed as chairman of the Carlsberg Malaysia Group. I admire the dynamism and resilience of the group, its committed people and innovative brand portfolios in both Malaysia and Singapore.
“I strongly believe in the group’s purpose of Brewing for a Better Today and Tomorrow and look forward to supporting the Group in driving its growth momentum in line with its SAIL’27 strategy and sustainability priorities,” Chor said.
Meanwhile, Toh said: “It has been an exciting and rewarding journey for me personally, a challenging one too, as half of my tenure with the Group was spent in navigating the Covid-19 uncertainties.”
“I would like to record my heartfelt appreciation and thanks to all our shareholders and business partners for being very supportive of our operations in Malaysia and Singapore during the trying times,” he said.
Toh also expressed his thanks to all employees for their dedication and commitment in delivering outstanding successes and results for the company during these challenging years.
