A four-year-old boy drowned Monday evening in an unincorporated area near Northbrook, according to the Cook County sheriff’s office.
Northbrook Fire Chief Andrew Carlson confirmed the drowning occurred at the Mission Hills housing complex. The area is located west of Northbrook.
Northbrook emergency personnel responded to the call, but the Cook County sheriff’s office is handling the investigation, according to spokeswoman Kathleen Carmody.
