PETALING JAYA: Only those who are fully vaccinated are allowed for house visits during Christmas, says the National Unity Ministry.

House-to-house carolling is not allowed, said the ministry when announcing the standard operating procedure (SOP) for the festival.

The SOP will be for the duration of the Christmas celebration period, from Dec 24 to Dec 25.

"Prayers, with compliance to SOP, will be allowed throughout the National Recovery Plan (NRP).

“Choir performances will be allowed with social distancing of no less than one metre, and with mandatory use of face mask or face shield.

"Home visits will be allowed for fully vaccinated people only. Carolling from house-to-house will not be allowed.

“Christmas Day stalls are subject to the jurisdiction of the respective local authorities," it said.

In the statement, Minister Datuk Halimah Mohamed Sadique urged all Christians to celebrate the holiday while complying with the new normal.
