Royal Family LIVE: Meghan Markle 'replaced at Invictus Games' as name 'taken off schedule'

Meghan Markle has been taken off the schedule of the Invictus Games and has apparently been replaced by a German television presenter.

The official guide for the Paralympic-style sporting competition for injured veterans and military personnel originally suggested the Duchess of Sussex would go on stage at the closing ceremony to present a segment about competitors' lives.

But Meghan's name is missing from a listing on the website of the eight day long Invictus Games, which begins in Düsseldorf, Germany, on Saturday (September 9).

A detailed schedule now says German TV host Hadnet Tesfai will take Meghan's place.

The passage, which has been removed, said Meghan would "take to the stage to host the intimate and moving glimpse into the extraordinary journeys of the Invictus Games competitors", according to Mail Online.

The same publication says sources have claimed the information was "uploaded in error".

Meghan is still expected to join Prince Harry at the games, which the Duke of Sussex founded in 2014.

The Duchess put in an appearance at last year's competition to deliver tributes to those taking part and to introduce her husband.

Prince Harry's arrival in Düsseldorf on Saturday will coincide with a protest by activists claiming the German military will use the competition to recruit people.

A spokesman for the games told Mail Online one of its aims is to "stimulate social discourse on the topics of the military and foreign missions" and "there are – at no time – elements of recruitment for the Bundeswehr".

Prince William and Kate have 'no desire to meet' Prince Harry and are 'dreading' UK visit

Prince William and Princess Kate have “no desire” to meet with Prince Harry when he lands in the UK, according to a royal expert.

It’s been nearly one year since the death of Queen Elizabeth II and the royal rift has only seemed to deepen since her passing.

Prince Harry will travel to the UK today, without Meghan Markle, but a family reunion does not seem to be in the cards.

“It is my understanding that the Prince and Princess of Wales have no desire to meet with Harry - with or without Meghan Markle,” said royal expert Kinsey Schofield.

'World's most expensive coin' to honour late Queen worth staggering £18million

A coin made with almost 4kg of gold and more than 6,426 diamonds has been unveiled in honour of the late Queen Elizabeth and is thought to be one of the most valuable of all time.

The East India Company designed the luxury object called The Crown and has valued the coin at £18.47million.

It has been described as a "16-month labour of love" by craftsmen from across the Commonwealth and is one that "many thought was not possible due to the scale of the project and the global shortage of diamonds as a result of the pandemic".

The current world record for the most expensive coin is a "double Eagle" gold coin that sold for £15.17million at auction in 2021.

It is not known whether or not The Crown will go up for sale.

Royal Family haemorrhages support in 12 months since Queen Elizabeth's death, polls show

In April 2011, at the time of the Prince and Princess of Wales's wedding, 69 percent of people that took part in a YouGov survey agreed that the monarchy should continue.

The figure has fluctuated over the years, rising to 70 percent in October 2020 - undoubtedly influenced by the Royal Family's bid to raise morale during the coronavirus lockdown.

By the time of the Queen's death in September 2022 the figure was at 67 percent.

In the 12 months that followed, the popularity of the Royal Family has dropped to 62 percent.

Princess Kate 'let her true feelings slip' for Meghan Markle at tense event

Princess Kate let her "true feelings" towards Meghan Markle show at a tense event, according to a body language expert who said the Princess of Wales made her feelings "crystal clear".

One of the last appearances the pair made together was at Windsor Castle in the days after the Queen's death in September 2022.

Body language expert Judi James analysed footage of the walkabout and said she felt there was four key moments during the appearance that proved Kate had reached a point of no return.

She told the Mirror: "A close analysis of four key body language behaviours suggest it was forty minutes of gruesome tension from two couples united in grief but irrevocably split apart by anger and resentments."

Meghan Markle made 'thinly veiled threats' to Royal Family days before Queen's death

Meghan Markle issued a number of "thinly veiled threats" to the Royal Family just days before Queen Elizabeth II's death, royal observers claim.

The Duchess of Sussex joined her husband Prince Harry in mourning the passing of Her Majesty last year.

In the months and years leading up to the Queen's death, the Sussexes' relationship with the Royal Family was said to have sunk to new lows as they struggled with strictures of royal life.

For many royal observers, Meghan's interview with The Cut - published on August 29 - was full of "thinly veiled" threats towards courtiers in Buckingham Palace.

Prince Harry returning to the UK for charity's awards ceremony

Prince Harry is to return to Britain for the first time since June to attend a charity awards ceremony.

The Duke of Sussex will celebrate the achievements and resilience of seriously-ill youngsters and their families who are supported by WellChild at the event in London on Thursday.

The awards ceremony is taking place on the eve of the first anniversary of the death of his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.

Harry has been WellChild's patron for 15 years and regularly attends its annual awards ceremony, but the Duchess of Sussex, a guest at past events, is not expected to join him.

Last year's awards were held on the day the Queen died, forcing the duke and duchess to withdraw from the event as Harry flew to Scotland to be with other members of the royal family.

The awards ceremony is being held a few days before Harry's Invictus Games - for wounded military personnel and veterans - begins in Dusseldorf, Germany, on Saturday and is staged over eight days.

Harry said: "For nearly 20 years, WellChild has been transforming the lives of children and young people across the UK, providing critical care that prioritises the physical, mental and emotional wellbeing of these individuals and their families."

During the event, the Duke will spend time with the winners and their families at a pre-ceremony reception before presenting the award for Inspirational Child (aged four to six) and delivering a speech.
