Johor Baru South OCPD Asst Comm Raub Selamat said the suspects, aged between 25 and 38, had stolen the motorcycles and removed the parts before changing the engine and chassis numbers.
"The three suspects have confessed to their crime," he said in a statement on Wednesday (Sept 29).
The arrests were made during a raid here from 4am to 6pm on Tuesday (Sept 28), he said.
ACP Raub added that the police have also confiscated four motorcycles, six motorcycle engines, one motorcycle frame and several other components.
"Background checks reveal that all three suspects have a prior record involving drugs and crime.
"One of them is still wanted for a drug case in Seri Alam police headquarters," he said.
The case was being investigated under Section 379A of the Penal Code for theft of a motor vehicle or any component of a motor vehicle that carried a maximum seven-year jail sentence or a fine upon conviction.
