A HORRIFIED customer has slammed Toby Carvery after she found a SNAIL in her roast dinner.

       Chloe Walshaw, 24, felt "physically sick" at the sight of her and her boyfriend's ￡20.63 takeaway roast from the carvery in Tipton.

       The school worker spotted the snail crawling around in her peas after she was already half way through the meal.

       Uber Eats- who dropped off their food on New Year's Day - gave the couple a full refund for their unfinished turkey and beef roasts.

       Toby Carvery offered up a ￡40 voucher as an apology and promised to launch a probe.

       But Chloe, from Dudley, insists she won't ever go back after the shock.

       She told Birmingham Live: "I felt really physically sick. I was half-way through."

       Chloe usually goes into the restaurant for her food, but wanted to treat herself to the at-home meal, she added.

       The snail was spotted by the horrified diner as she dug down into her peas.

       She added: "I was really shocked, I had food in my mouth and I spat the food out.

       "I'm glad it was on top and not in the middle of what I was about to eat."

       Toby Carvery has asked that the food be sent over so they can investigate.

       A spokesman for the chain added: "We are sorry that we didn’t deliver a meal to our usual high standards, but thank the guest for sharing her feedback and welcome the opportunity to put this right by offering a refund and investigating internally."

       Chloe's experience came days after a couple told how their Christmas Day was ruined after being made to wait an hour for a "soggy", "mushy" and "chewy" Toby Carvery dinner.

       Ivan Lee Jones, 52, and his wife Dawn, 51, forked out ￡55 each for the festive meal in Willerby, Kingston-upon-Hull, on December 25.

       The grandparents, from Clowne, Derbyshire, were due to celebrate with their grandkids afterwards and had been told to get there in plenty of time for their 4pm booking.

       But despite arriving 15 minutes early, they were made to wait well over an hour for their food – some of which “hadn’t seen the inside of an oven”.
