Oak Forest police are investigating the apparent homicide of a Harvey man who was found shot multiple times Sunday afternoon.
The man was identified by the Cook County medical examiner’s office as 36-year-old Jamiah Woods, of the 16200 block of Sussex Court.
He was pronounced dead at 11:54 p.m. Sunday at Advocate Aurora Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to the office.
Police said they responded to a report of shots fired just before 4 p.m. in the 4100 block of West 167th Street, which is on the border of Oak Forest and Country Club Hills.
They found a man who had been shot multiple times, and officers from both departments rendered aid until the man could be taken to the hospital.

Oak Forest investigators are being assisted by the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force.
