SEGAMAT: A woman was severely injured after her car collided with a bread delivery truck in Kampung Tasek here.

       Bandar Baru Segamat Fire and Rescue Department operations commander Abu Bakar Mohamad said the accident, which took place near a mosque in Jalan Tasek Alai, was reported at 4.45pm on Wednesday (July 7).

       He said the woman was driving towards Buloh Kasap from Jalan Segamat-Muar when her vehicle collided with the loaded truck, which was coming from the opposite direction.

       “The crash left her with severe injuries to her shoulders and thighs, as she was entrapped in the crushed vehicle before we arrived at the scene.

       “We used special equipment to extricate her.

       “At the same time, we rescued the driver from the one-tonne truck, which had turned to its side, and gave him emergency medical treatment, ” he said.

       Both victims were sent to Hospital Segamat for further medical attention.
